Dr Denise Kilby is from Pond, Missouri. She recieved her doctorate degree from the University of Missouri-Columbia in 1997. She began her career as a veterinarian in St. Louis, Missouri practicing medicine for five years before her husband, Chad, was relocated to Tulsa, Oklahoma with State Farm. They were able to enjoy spending time with Chad’s family who lived in Tulsa. While there, Dr. Kilby became the medical director and veterinarian of a small animal hospital. After spending six years helping the hospital grow, her family was relocated back to St. Louis.
After being reunited with Dr. Kilby’s family and welcomed back to her previous animal hospital, she spent four more years enjoying the veterinary profession. Dr. Kilby enjoys the bonds and relationships she has developed over the years with her patients and their owners. Most recently, Chad was relocated to Bloomington, IL. Dr. Kilby, Chad, their three children (Jacob, Austin, Katelyn), and their 2 dogs, Abby (Labradoodle the family rescued) and Brinkley continue to count their blessings after finding themselves in a very welcoming city. She has been a veterinarian at Hawthorne Park Animal Care Center since April 2012.
Dr. Kilby enjoys internal medicine and surgery, including the use of the CO2 laser. She is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association and Illinois State Veterinary Medical Association. She loves spending time with her family, any activities involving her children and spouse, being outdoors, going to the movies, helping others by volunteering, and attending Eastview Christian Church. She has a passion for veterinary medicine and feels blessed to be able to achieve her childhood dream.
